The player interaction varies wildly based on what capatains you’re playing. However, I’d disagree that it’s primarily a 2 player duel type of game. This is very much a solo game as much as it’s a 2 player game.

Especially considering it’s primarily a 2 player duel type of game..

Comment on Mass Effect: The Board Game – Priority: Hagalaz Review by SBanik25 https://www.boardgamequest.com/mass-effect-the-board-game-priority-hagalaz-review/#comment-86115 Thu, 16 Jan 2025 17:39:13 +0000 https://www.boardgamequest.com/?p=60716#comment-86115 Playing this game is much fun. It’s a lot to set up and it takes a few attempts to understand the components fully but a challenge can be a good thing.
I was given this for my birthday and have enjoyed playing solo and with my husband. As a fan of the video game and lover of board games it really feel ya my interests. I can see why some may not like it but overall I think if willing to be gracious and take some time to learn you are in for a good time. I feel some reviews are a bit harsh.

One major downside: I got the extra character miniatures and was excited to build and paint them. The miniatures are cool but we’re a hassle to build. It came with no instructions and without the help of my skilled husband who has built in the past I would have abandoned a few. Could be greatly improved with a QR code to instructions online or even included in the box.

The fiddliness, tracking different monster behaviours based on your actions – perhaps my least favourite aspect of any game. Cost I can live with, but cheaper is better. Probably too expensive to take a risk plunging into.

I dismissed it when I first heard about it, but I have to look at this one more closely. Actually, I need to compare all of the recent racing games because I’d like to find one to keep on hand for when I’m in the racing mood. I’ve played some of the bigger titles (Heat, Thunder Road), but they did not hold my interest. Thanks.
